The City Hall of Nova Iguaçu denounces that apartments from the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (MCMV) program are being advertised on the internet for up to R$ 45,000. The properties belong to Faixa 1 of the program, which allows financing with up to 95% subsidy from the federal government, expanding access to housing financing for low-income families.
More than ten ads for properties located in the Sergipe, Piauí, and Rio Grande do Norte condominiums, in the Villa Provance neighborhood, were found. Among the offers, there are houses available for cash purchase and others with a R$ 10,000 down payment and the remainder financed in installments. The properties began to be delivered on July 3.
According to the municipal secretary of Infrastructure of Nova Iguaçu, Cleide Moreira, these properties are part of a housing policy intended for low-income families, selected based on social criteria and chosen through lottery. She reinforces that these are properties with strong public subsidy to ensure housing for those who really need it.
