The Social Electricity Tariff is a financial support measure for families in situations of greater socioeconomic vulnerability, allowing for a significant reduction in electricity consumption costs. In the Autonomous Region of Madeira, this program offers a 33.8% discount for eligible families.
The Regional Directorate of Energy, which is under the tutelage of the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructures, is the entity responsible for providing information and clarification on this support to Madeiran citizens.
The main objective of this measure is to mitigate the impact of energy costs on the most vulnerable families in the region, contributing to ensuring access to an essential good such as electricity.
This initiative falls within the scope of social protection and family support policies implemented by the regional administration of Madeira, aiming to reduce inequalities and support households in economic difficulties.
