Angola recorded 184 mpox cases between July 6 and August 16, representing the second highest number of infections in Africa during that period. The cumulative total of infections in the country rose to 274, according to World Health Organization data. One death was recorded in Angolan territory.
The country trails only another unspecified African nation in terms of new cases on the continent during the analyzed period. WHO is monitoring the disease's evolution at the continental level, having provided this data on the situation in Angola.
