Seko Fofana announced his retirement from the Ivory Coast national team. The footballer, who plays for FC Porto on loan from French club Rennes, made this decision after accumulating 35 caps for the African country.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been part of the Ivory Coast national team since the beginning of his professional career, having represented the country in various international competitions over the years.
Fofana was one of the key players for Ivory Coast in winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament in which the national team ended up lifting the trophy after a successful campaign.
With this decision, Fofana closes an important chapter in his international career, now focusing exclusively on his club, FC Porto, where he continues to compete in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
