The Livre and Left Bloc (BE) parties demanded explanations from the Portuguese executive about the situation of students who still do not have school placement. These are the first political reactions after the Ministry of Education acknowledged that thousands of students continue without an assigned place.
Livre warned of a possible blockage in the education system due to the dissolution of the Direção-Geral dos Estabelecimentos Escolares (DGEstE). The party also questioned the government about the holding of vacancy verification meetings to resolve the situation.
On its part, BE asked the executive about the emergency scheduling planned by the Government to guarantee the placement of all students. The party wants to know when the extraordinary measures promised by the Ministry of Education will be implemented.
The situation arises in a context of reorganization of educational services, with the dissolution of DGEstE raising concerns about the system's capacity to respond in assigning places to students.
