The Ministry of Education, led by Albuquerque, announced that the school year started positively, contradicting the criticism that had been raised by teacher unions in the preceding weeks. Albuquerque publicly played down the concerns raised by union organizations, considering them exaggerated given the reality observed on the ground.
Regarding human resources, the official admitted only the existence of small occasional adjustments and slight teacher shortages in some specific subjects. The areas most affected by these teacher shortages are Portuguese, History and Philosophy, although the Ministry classified these situations as being small in scale.
The Executive guaranteed that it is working to address these occasional gaps and assured that the start of the school year proceeded as planned. Parent associations and guardians had also expressed concerns before the beginning of classes, but the Ministry maintained its position that the educational system is prepared to face these minor challenges.
