Rui Amorim, 48 years old, native of Vila Praia de Âncora, took office as second commander of the Voluntary Firefighters of Vila Praia de Âncora. This was a festive ceremony that included other promotions and the blessing of vehicles. Rui Amorim joined this fire corps 30 years ago, so he knows the structure and challenges of this firefighting team deeply.
In his inauguration, the new commander made a clear commitment to the institution. "I intend to serve this fire corps, honor its history and contribute to its future," he declared. He also emphasized the importance of every mission being prepared rigorously and that safety conditions are always an absolute priority.
Among the objectives set by Rui Amorim for the command, highlight the vision of an even more prepared fire corps. He advocated for investment in training, discipline, constant improvement and modernization of available resources. He also intends to be an approachable person, with an open door, valuing dialogue and listening to the opinion of each firefighter.
