The Voluntary Firefighters of Valença celebrate on Sunday, September 20th, their 107th anniversary, with a commemorative program that will have Fontoura as one of the main points of the celebrations.
The program begins at 8:45 AM with the General Formation, followed by the Flag Raising and, at 9:15 AM, the traditional Pilgrimage to the Cemetery. At 10:00 AM, Mass will be celebrated at Fontoura Church.
At 11:30 AM, the Formation with Reception of Entities takes place, which will include promotions and decorations, the blessing of vehicles, and a tribute to benefactor José Maria Gonçalves. The ceremonies continue at 12:30 PM, in the Salão Nobre (Main Hall), with the Solemn Session and the swearing-in of the 2nd Commander.
The program ends at 1:30 PM, with the traditional Green de Honra (Honor Drink). The event was reported by Semanário Alto Minho.
