The recorded music market in Portugal grew 14% in the first half of this year, according to Audiogest data. Revenue totaled 45.4 million euros, with physical sales increasing 20%. Streaming continues to represent nearly half of the total value, at 46.1%, having grown 18% between January and June, rising from 17.7 million euros to 20.9 million euros. Paid subscriptions increased 28% to 15.11 million euros, while advertising-supported streaming recorded a slight decline of 1% to 5.80 million euros.
Audiogest highlights the evolution of physical sales as one of the highlights of the period. Revenue from physical editions increased 20%, rising from 4.8 million euros to 5.8 million euros, with 99.7% resulting from album sales. Vinyl was the major driver of this growth, with a 25% increase in sales, while CDs increased only 7%.
The top singles sales were dominated by international artists, with "Jetski" by Brazilian Pedro Sampaio in first place, followed by "Posso até não te dar flores" by Brazilians DJ Japa NK and MC Meno K, and "Baile Inolvidable" by Puerto Rican Bad Bunny. Only one Portuguese song appears in the top 10, "Pôr do Sol" by Vizinhos in eighth place. The best-selling album was "Debi tirar mas fotos" by Bad Bunny, followed by "Arirang" by South Korean group BTS and "Carta de alforria" by Portuguese artist Plutonio. Bad Bunny sold out the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon twice in May during the world tour for this album.
