A drone exploded over a passenger train two kilometres from Poland, NATO territory, in an attack that analysts consulted by Expresso consider to represent another step in the escalation of Russia's hybrid actions against allied countries.
Analysts point to a lack of courage and political capital in the leaders of the Atlantic Alliance to establish, more assertively, what is or is not tolerable regarding the hybrid attacks carried out by Russia.
According to the experts consulted by Expresso, NATO's inaction constitutes an "invitation to the Kremlin to continue testing the limits" of the Alliance, allowing Moscow to continue with these operations without facing significant consequences.
The Kremlin is using these hybrid attacks as a way to try to undermine Western support for Ukraine, seeking to weaken cohesion among allies and demoralise the countries that support Kiev militarily.
