Car production in Portugal fell 45% in a month when the Autoeuropa and Mitsubishi Fuso factories were shut down. This significant drop is related to the scheduled shutdown periods at these two production units.
Between January and August of this year, a total of 206,782 vehicles left the factories installed in Portugal. This number represents a decline of 6.3% compared to the same period last year.
Autoeuropa, which is one of the main car production units in the country, and Mitsubishi Fuso, a commercial vehicle manufacturer, were the companies responsible for this drop in production during the month in question.
