Rapper Macklemore was removed from the tour he would have performed as the opening act for singer Ed Sheeran after statements supporting Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. The company Messina Touring Group, responsible for the American leg of Sheeran's Loop Tour, confirmed the decision after receiving information from several concert venues that would not allow the rapper's performances.
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the concert venues informed producers they would not allow Macklemore's performances. The touring company stated that keeping the rapper would result in the tour's cancellation and affect hundreds of thousands of fans.
After discussions with the involved parties, Macklemore will not perform on the remaining tour dates. The decision was made to avoid harm to the tour and spectators.
