The Colombian singer Shakira arrived in Madrid over the weekend to begin a tour of 12 concerts in the Spanish capital. The artist was received at the venue by fans and by members of the Carnival of Barranquilla, the Colombian city from which she is from.
The shows will take place in a temporary venue built specifically for the purpose on the outskirts of Madrid. The structure has capacity to accommodate approximately 50,000 people per concert.
With this tour, Shakira continues her international concert career, bringing her music to large audiences in Europe after previous performances in other regions.
