The Argentine striker Mauro Icardi is a free agent in the transfer market and is in advanced negotiations with Lazio for a possible return to the Italian league. The 31-year-old player has been without a club since leaving Galatasaray in Turkey at the start of this season.
During his career in Italy, Icardi represented Sampdoria, where he stood out as a promising young talent in Argentine football, and later Inter Milan, where he became one of the most prolific strikers in Serie A and captain of the team.
The negotiations between the player and the Roman club are ongoing, with the contractual terms for a possible agreement still to be defined. Should the transfer go through, Icardi will return to Italian football after an experience abroad that included stints at Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Galatasaray.
The possible arrival of Icardi at Lazio represents an attempt by the club to strengthen their attack for the second half of the season, seeking better results in Serie A.
