Nine people were arrested in Albufeira for allegedly being linked to the transport and storage of fuel destined for narco speedboats. The operation took place on a famous beach in the Algarve city.
Authorities seized several fuel containers with gasoline during the intervention. The fuel would have been used to power the fast vessels used in drug trafficking.
The arrests come in the context of a broader effort by security forces to combat drug trafficking via the Portuguese coast, particularly in the Algarve, a region frequently targeted due to its proximity to Spanish territory and its geographical conditions.
