The Latvian leader declared: "We know the tricks; we knew that the aggressor would show strength," suggesting that the Baltic countries possess deep knowledge of Russian methods due to their history of Soviet domination.
The prime minister indicated that the EU is now heeding the warnings that the Baltic countries have been making over the years, thus recognizing the validity of their concerns regarding the Russian threat.
