A tire blowout on a truck caused a fire in the vehicle's trailer, in the early afternoon of this Monday, September 14, on the IC6, in Penacova. The incident occurred after the tire exploded, starting flames at the rear of the freight vehicle.
The truck was carrying a load of wood, which ended up worsening the fire situation. The woody material facilitated the spread of flames and required a longer operation by the intervention teams.
Authorities and firefighters had to work for several hours at the scene to control and extinguish the fire. The complexity of the operation was due both to the nature of the load and to the extent of the fire that spread across the truck's trailer.
