Coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Neymar's future with the Brazilian national team does not include the player. In an interview with CNN Esportes S/A, the Italian stated that the player himself has already informed that he does not want to wear the yellow jersey again after the World Cup. Ancelotti stated that the World Cup ended a generation that began in 2018 and played in three World Cups.
According to the coach, the team needs renewal. "Some may continue, but generally, we need new players and a new identity in the national team," Ancelotti stated. The Italian coach recently took over command of the Brazilian national team.
Neymar's last dance with the Brazilian national team was at the World Cup, in a call-up full of expectations. However, the player got injured before the World Cup and played little in the competition. Even so, Ancelotti does not regret taking the number 10 to the tournament.
Ancelotti praised the player calling him talented and unique. "Neymar cannot be replaced because he was an extraordinary and unique talent. He is an unrepeatable player. Since we cannot replace him, we have to move forward," the coach completed. Neymar left the field crying in Brazil's last match at the World Cup.
