Barred from entering Colégio Pedro II for arriving late, a student argued with staff, invoked the Constitution, and called the police. However, he ended up going home without attending classes. The incident occurred last week at the institution's Campus Tijuca II, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the school's rules, students in the afternoon shift must arrive by 1 PM, with a tolerance for delays until 1:15 PM. After that time, the student misses the first period, but can attend the remaining classes if they arrive by 1:40 PM, when the second period begins. Starting from that time, entry is only authorized upon presentation of a guardian's justification.
The student in question arrived at school at 2:10 PM, a time far exceeding the limit allowed by the institution's rules. Even so, he insistently tried to enter, even calling the police and citing the Federal Constitution as an argument to justify his entry.
