Johan Kristoffersson clinched the European Rallycross championship in Lousada, in a round that made history for the sport with the first night race of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. The Swedish driver dominated the final round of the championship in the RX1 category and confirmed the European title with a victory in the final, ahead of French driver Fabien Pailler and Finland's Juha Rytkönen.
The night also had a special flavor for the Portuguese audience. André Sousa set the stands ablaze by winning the RX3 final, achieving a home victory in one of the most competitive categories of the round.
The big novelty of the weekend came when the drivers took to the track at night. For the first time in the history of the FIA European Rallycross Championship, a race was run under artificial lighting, providing a different spectacle at the International Circuit of Lousada.
With thousands of spectators in the stands, the circuit closed the European season with races contested until the very last second and once again placed Lousada at the center of international Rallycross.
