The ban on truck circulation on the Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia Internal Beltway (VCI) comes into force this Tuesday, affecting around 4,400 heavy vehicles. The measure prohibits truck circulation between 7am and 9pm on this road ring.
ANTRAM (National Association of Goods Transporters) warned that it will be the customers of the transport sector who will pay the bill for this restriction. The association represents the interests of goods transport operators.
The measure represents a significant change in the circulation rules on that road, one of the busiest in the Northern region. Transport operators will have to adjust their operations to comply with the new restricted schedule.
