The search for Brazilian Gabriella Querino Elorriaga, 25 years old, enters its fourth day on Monday in the lagoon of Venice, Italy. She has been missing since the early morning of Saturday (12), when the boat she was in with her husband collided with a water taxi near the island of Tessera. The accident resulted in the death of her husband, Italian fisherman Sean Michieli, who was the same age.
The accident occurred around 5:30 AM in the Tessera canal, which connects Venice's historic center to Marco Polo airport. The couple had left by boat about half an hour before from Burano island, where they lived, heading to San Giuliano on the mainland. According to witnesses, Michieli was piloting a small vessel and was looking for fishing bait.
Gabriella is originally from Ribeirão Preto, in the state of São Paulo. She married Michieli on June 8 in Venice. Since the accident, she has not been located by the search teams.
The Brazilian's family will travel to Italy to follow the search efforts. The information comes from the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
