The Intermunicipal Community of Médio Tejo has expressed interest in joining a Government pilot project for wild boar control. The region intends to join this initiative in order to face the growing problem of the presence of these animals.
The issue of loose wild boar has generated great concern among residents and traders in the Médio Tejo region. The presence of these animals represents risks to public safety and also damages to local economic activities.
Local authorities consider that this could be a viable solution to control the wild boar population and minimize the negative impacts that their presence has caused in the community.
