Goalkeeper Vozinha, from Colo-Colo, made a mistake on the first goal conceded by the Chilean club in their 1-1 draw against Deportes Concepción last Sunday in the Chilean Championship. The play happened early in the first half after a corner kick. Norman Rodriguez beat the defense and scored with his head, while Vozinha jumped at the ball only after the opponent's header. Colo-Colo managed to equalize in the second half.
This was the first goal conceded by the Cape Verdean in three matches played for the Chilean club. The previous week, against Huachipato, he had also made a mistake by letting the ball slip away while trying to clear a cross, but on that occasion the opponent did not score.
The error comes days after Vozinha was nominated for the Ballon d'Or best goalkeeper award, recognition that came after his standout performance at the World Cup with the Cape Verde national team. The goalkeeper has been standing out as one of the revelations in international football recently.
