CMS Portugal advises Nayak Aircraft Services on the acquisition of LAS

Eco14 September 2026 at 11:50

CMS Portugal advised Nayak Aircraft Services, backed by Chequers Capital, on the acquisition of LAS Group, a Portuguese business group that provides aircraft maintenance services at national airports. The CMS team was led by Corporate M&A partner Tiago Valente de Oliveira, with participation of lawyers from various areas including Energy and Climate Change, Employment Law, TMC/PI and Real Estate.

Nayak Aircraft Services has over 50 years of experience and more than 60 own bases throughout Europe, providing assistance to more than 70 types of aircraft, being able to provide line maintenance and base maintenance support.

LAS Group is a Portuguese business group specialized in the aviation sector, composed of three companies: LAS Maintenance, LAS Training and SLOT Recursos Humanos. Founded in May 1995, it operates in aircraft line maintenance, advanced aviation training and human resources consulting.

Why this matters

This acquisition represents a reinforcement of Nayak Aircraft Services' European presence in the Portuguese market, directly affecting professionals in the aircraft maintenance sector in Portugal. LAS Group, a national company with almost 30 years of activity, now integrates a broader European group, which may have implications for its approximately 300 workers across the three companies in the group.

Banco de Fomento justifies trip to Paris with economic cooperation agenda and guarantees future disclosure of costs

The bank argues that in-person contact is essential to exchange experiences about financing models and investment instruments that would not be replicable remotely, highlighting the importance of Bpifrance as a reference institution with a balance sheet exceeding 330 billion euros. The total cost of the trip and the number of participants were not disclosed in advance, with BPF only stating that the expenses will be published in the future in the annual report and accounts, following the usual practice for other trips.
