The Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve (CAM) will invest 5.2 million euros in the acquisition of electric buses for the region. The investment is part of an effort to modernize and decarbonize public transport in the Algarve.
The Aerobus, which is the transport service that connects the main points of the Algarve, will now have fully electric vehicles. This change represents a significant transformation in the region's transport fleet.
The investment of 5.2 million euros comes within the scope of a broader commitment to energy transition and environmental sustainability. The measure aims to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality in the Algarve region.
With this decision, the Algarve positions itself as a pioneering region in the adoption of more sustainable public transport in Portugal, aligning with European targets for emissions reduction in the transport sector.
