A collision between a truck and a bus occurred on the A8, in the North-South direction, in the Malveira area, in the municipality of Mafra. The alert was given at 08:15.
The heavy goods vehicle hit the rear of the bus, which was carrying 52 passengers. Ten people suffered minor injuries and were taken to Hospital Santa Maria in Lisbon (3 injured) and to Hospital Beatriz Ângelo in Loures (7 injured).
The incident was in the final phase, but 10 operatives supported by 5 vehicles remained at the scene. During the peak of the response, 26 operatives and 11 vehicles were mobilized, including rescue and support resources.
The victim assistance operations and vehicle removal required the closure of one lane of the A8.
