Estremoz receives this Tuesday, September 15, a military ceremony commemorating Cavalry Arms Day and the 319th anniversary of Cavalry Regiment No. 3 (RC3). The event is scheduled for 8:30 PM and will take place at the Estremoz Municipal Chamber building.
The ceremony is open to the population, allowing citizens from Estremoz and surrounding areas to participate in the celebrations. The event thus brings together the Armed Forces and the local community in a moment of recognition of the history and tradition of Portuguese Cavalry.
The festivities simultaneously celebrate Cavalry Arms Day, which highlights the importance of this component of the Armed Forces, and the 319th anniversary of Cavalry Regiment No. 3, marking another year since the creation of this military unit. The RC3 is one of the oldest cavalry units in Portugal, with a history spanning nearly three and a half centuries.
