Starting this Monday, fuel prices undergo new changes in Portugal. Simple 95 gasoline should drop by approximately six cents per liter, potentially reaching values close to 2.04 euros per liter. In the opposite direction, road diesel rises again by about four cents, approaching 2.15 euros per liter. In a 50-liter refuel, this translates into savings of about three euros for gasoline users, but an additional cost of approximately two euros for diesel vehicle drivers.
The price evolution is confirmed by Order No. 430-A/2026, published in the Official Gazette, which expressly refers to the prospect of diesel rising and gasoline falling. The Government has also again adjusted the extraordinary discount on the Special Consumption Tax on Oil and Energy Products (ISP), with the applicable rate for gasoline now at 431.60 euros per thousand liters and road diesel at 264.02 euros per thousand liters. The extraordinary discount now corresponds to 65.92 euros per thousand liters for gasoline and 97.58 euros per thousand liters for diesel.
The Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) provides the Fuel Prices Online portal, where drivers can search prices by district, municipality, brand, or type of station, with a dedicated area for the cheapest stations. DGEG counts more than three thousand active stations on the mainland and reminds that license holders are required to communicate any price change before applying it. Official statistical data is, as a rule, updated on Tuesdays at 5:00 PM.
