The British multinational behind the Sophia photovoltaic solar plant reduced the project's installed capacity by 34% in the presented restructuring. The plant, located in Castelo Branco, will now have a capacity lower than initially planned.
The decision to reduce the project's power output comes within the scope of a broader restructuring of the plant's conditions. This change represents a significant decrease in the installation's energy generation potential.
The Sophia project continues to move forward, although with technical characteristics different from the original ones. The competent authorities will need to evaluate this new proposal before issuing the respective approvals.
