The Portuguese State is preparing a second phase of investment in REN (Rede Elétrica Nacional) with the objective of reaching a 20% stake in the company. The government tasked Parpública, a public shareholding company, with carrying out this acquisition on the market.
The operation has already cost the State 389.8 million euros, having acquired 13.7% of REN's capital through this strategy to date. The investment made already allows for a significant position in the energy sector company.
Parpública was the entity responsible for executing the acquisition plan defined by the government, in an operation that aims to reinforce the State's presence in the capital of a company considered strategic for the national electricity sector.
