Learn, create and connect: CER Senior Academy opens new academic year in Viana do Castelo

The Senior Academy of CER – Center for Regional Studies begins the academic year 2026/2027 in the second fortnight of September, in Viana do Castelo. The institution's main objectives are to promote the learning of new skills, the development of talents, the maintenance of an active life and, above all, socializing among participants.

The new academic year offers 15 diverse trainings: German, English, Computing, Photography, Creative Writing, History of Illustration, Painting Atelier, Ceramics, Choral Singing, Book Club, Crossword and Charade Club, Paper Embroidery Workshop, Healthy Gymnastics, Pilates and Dance. Beyond the training activities, the Academy also promotes clubs, workshops, ateliers, study visits, trips and social gatherings throughout the year.

Founded in 2004 as part of a cultural association's activities, the Senior Academy has over two decades of experience, qualified trainers and a network of institutional and private partners. Since 2009, CER has been part of the Network of Third Age Universities (RUTIS) and belongs to the Network of Excellence of Universities and Senior Academies.

Enrollments for the academic year run until the end of September, at the CER headquarters, in Largo do Instituto Histórico do Minho, next to the Cathedral of Viana do Castelo, between 9am and 1pm and/or from 2pm to 6pm.
