The Lisbon stock exchange opened the session in negative territory, with the PSI falling 0.09% to 9,516.49 points. The national index was penalized by the negative performance of the EDP group companies, with EDP Renováveis leading the losses by falling 2% to 12.76 euros and EDP dropping 0.83% to 4.756 euros.
Among the other companies that contributed to the negative sentiment, Mota-Engil stood out, dropping 0.68% to 4.938 euros, Altri with a decline of 0.32% to 4.695 euros, and Corticeira Amorim down 0.29% to 6.99 euros. Conversely, Ibersol surged 4.41% to 10.42 euros, Galp rose 1.40% to 21.78 euros, and Sonae gained 0.75% to 2.0200 euros.
The main European markets followed the negative Lisbon trend, with Germany's DAX falling 0.21% to 25,704.50 points, France's CAC40 dropping 0.22% to 8,162.92 points, and Spain's Ibex35 losing 0.30% to 19,781.40 points.
In the commodities market, Texas WTI crude oil rose 2.99% to 103.01 dollars per barrel and Brent gained 2.91% to 107.66 dollars, while natural gas increased 2.80% to 2.899 dollars. In the foreign exchange market, the euro depreciated 0.38% against the dollar, settling at 1.1555 dollars.
