Mozambique approved a new regulation on domestic work that introduces more labor protections for workers in this area. The regulation establishes several measures aimed at protecting and regulating this class of workers.
Among the main protections introduced are the mandatory written contract, mandatory Social Security registration, and 30 days of annual vacation. The regulation also includes enhanced protection against harassment in the workplace.
One of the most significant measures is the establishment of the minimum wage for domestic workers, which represents an important advancement in their labor rights.
The new regulation specifically applies to domestic work in Mozambique, covering all domestic workers in the country.
