The Municipality of Santiago do Cacém approved last week, at a meeting of the municipal executive, the implementation of Family IMI and the refund of 0.5% of IRS to taxpayers residing in the municipality. The measures were decided during an ordinary meeting of the municipal executive.
The Family IMI is a measure that aims to support families residing in the municipality through tax benefits related to the municipal property tax. This approval represents an effort by the council to reduce the tax burden on local families.
The refund of 0.5% of IRS to taxpayers residing in the municipality will begin to be applied starting in 2027. This measure will allow the municipality's taxpayers to recover a portion of their income taxes directly in their municipality of residence.
Both measures were approved by the municipal executive of Santiago do Cacém during the same meeting, demonstrating an integrated strategy to support residents through tax benefits granted by the local authority.
