Jornal Económico is holding this Monday, September 14, at AIP – Associação Industrial Portuguesa, in Lisbon, the conference "Labor Law Reform: changes to labor legislation," sponsored by Cerejeira Namora. The event comes in a context where the new Labor Code has been shelved, but labor legislation remains at the center of political, economic and social debate, marked by labor shortages, pressure on wages, technological transformation and the need for greater flexibility in labor relations.
The conference addresses the adaptation of Portuguese legislation to European rules, questioning what will change, what margin exists for modifications and what is needed. The program includes interventions by Nuno Cerejeira Namora, founding partner of Cerejeira Namora, Marinho Falcão, on the topic "What will actually change?", and by Pedro Martins, professor at NovaSBE, and José Eduardo Carvalho, president of AIP, who will debate what needed to change in labor law.
The political debate features confirmed attendance by MPs Miguel Cabrita (PS), Paulo Seco (Chega) and a representative from Aliança Democrática, who will discuss whether there is still room for further change. The conference closes at 11:00 with the intervention of Pedro Mota Soares, former minister of Solidarity, Employment and Social Security.
