The A Caminho das Estrelas project was officially presented on Monday, September 14th, in Covilhã, at a session held at the Pena D'Água Boutique Hotel & Villas. The initiative is a joint promotion by Turismo do Centro de Portugal and the Regional Agency for Tourism Promotion of Centro de Portugal, with the participation of the president of both entities.
The program has as its central objective mobilizing the endogenous resources of the eight sub-regions that make up the tourism territory of Centro de Portugal. The strategy is based on the enhancement of gastronomy, culture, certified products, local producers and their respective communities, linking the traditional economic fabric with the international projection associated with haute cuisine.
The planned actions include the direct recognition of local producers, who constitute the foundation of the regional gastronomic supply chain, as well as the training of tourism operators and the stimulation of the offer of the municipalities involved. The exact time of the session was not made public by the responsible entities.
The project serves as a preparatory itinerary for the MICHELIN Guide Portugal 2027 Gala, which will be held in Coimbra. The promoters intend to transform this milestone into a catalyst for investment and sustained attractiveness, although the specific details regarding the overall action calendar and the financial amounts involved have not yet been disclosed.
