The Municipal Museum of Castro Daire was inaugurated in 1993 and constitutes a cultural space dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of local heritage. This museum is part of the municipality's cultural and tourist offering, contributing to the valorization of the history and traditions of the region.
The museum also integrates the Montemuro and Paiva Interpretation and Information Center, which serves as a welcoming and information space for visitors and tourists who wish to explore the region. This center plays an important role in the dynamization of the territory.
The Interpretation Center covers various themes of historical and cultural interest, including walking routes that allow visitors to discover the landscape and natural heritage of the Serra do Montemuro and the Paiva Valley. These routes invite direct contact with the territory.
Additionally, the center addresses content related to megalithism, Romanization, and a lipsanotheca, reflecting the archaeological and historical richness of Castro Daire and surrounding regions. These elements allow for understanding human occupation of the territory throughout different eras.
