Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) reaches the eve of the trial about the case involving messages sent to him by Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, without having responded to the content of the document requested by his Court colleague André Mendonça. A Federal Police (PF) report indicates that the businessman was being guided by the magistrate in the days preceding his arrest.
The president of the STF scheduled for this Tuesday the trial regarding the process that includes the report produced by the PF based on Mendonça's request about Vorcaro's influence network, a document that brought forward information involving Moraes. The case has generated expectation in the Court due to revelations about alleged guidance from the minister to the businessman.
Moraes had announced a press statement last Thursday, without disclosing the topic of the speech. The cancellation was communicated shortly afterward by the press office, which stated that the statement would be "rescheduled for an opportune date". So far, the minister has not made any public statement on the matter.
Despite the public silence, Moraes has until this Monday to formally respond to the PF report. The expectation is that the minister's defense will present its arguments before the trial scheduled for the following day, when the Court is expected to analyze the process involving suspicions of interference in the investigations.
