A fire destroyed this Sunday a shack at Mirante do Pedrão, located in Morro Santa Marta, in Laranjeiras, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Images shared on social media recorded the flames consuming the structure and a large amount of smoke at the location. So far, there is no information about what caused the fire.
The shack was the workplace of Andréia, one of the people linked to the history of Mirante do Pedrão, a space known for hosting feijoadas, barbecues, parties and events. According to reports shared on social media, she started working there practically from scratch, alongside a friend, with a cooler and some containers of feijoada.
The fire occurred amid another moment of loss for Andréia. In a video published on social media, she recounts that she had lost her mother the day before the fire.
