Belgian comic book editor Yves Schlirf died on Saturday, the news having been confirmed today by the Dargaud and Kana publishers, with which he was professionally associated.
Schlirf was considered a key figure in the popularization of Japanese manga in francophone countries, having been responsible for editing works that became major best-sellers in the region.
Among the most emblematic titles he published are the volumes of the series "Naruto," by Japanese author Masashi Kishimoto, which achieved enormous popularity among francophone readers.
His work as an editor contributed significantly to the expansion of the manga market in the French-language publishing space, becoming a reference in the comic book sector in that market.
