Minister Flávio Dino, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), lifted on Sunday (13) the secrecy of the investigations into the financing of the film "Dark Horse," based on the trajectory of former President Jair Bolsonaro. He also brought to the STF investigations from the São Paulo Civil Police about the case.
The initial investigations, from São Paulo, stemmed from suspicions about a contract between the city government of the capital and the Instituto Conhecer Brasil (ICB), Karina Ferreira da Gama's NGO, for the installation of 5,000 Wi-Fi points in the city at a cost of R$ 157 million.
The businesswoman Karina allegedly diverted part of the funds to the film's production, since she is also the owner of Go Up Entertainment, responsible for "Dark Horse." Additionally, there are indications that part of the money was destined for other businesses linked to the businesswoman. The municipal management is not under investigation.
While in the São Paulo sphere the focus of investigators was the Wi-Fi contract, at the STF another inquiry analyzed the transfer of parliamentary amendments related to the case. Dino took several decisions that include lifting the secrecy, transferring the investigations to Federal Court and sharing information with the Budget CPI in Congress.
