The film "Vicentina pede desculpas", directed by Gabriel Martins, had its gala premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this Saturday (12). The production is in competition at the Platform section, considered an important Oscar predictor.
Director Gabriel Martins and lead actress Rejane Faria presented the film's screening at the festival. Also in attendance at the event were actors Maíra Azevedo, Renato Novaes, Giovanna Heliodoro, Lara Lima, and Rimenna Procópio, as well as the partners of the Minas Gerais-based production company Filmes de Plástico: Thiago Macêdo Correia, André Novais Oliveira, and Maurilio Martins.
The selection in Toronto positions the production well in the race to represent Brazil in the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars. The film is shortlisted to represent the country at the awards.
