Police arrested Ronaldo Vivaqua, identified as the hidden partner of the company responsible for the construction of a building that collapsed while under construction in Penha, in the East Zone of São Paulo. The collapse hit a house and caused the death of six people. Ronaldo Vivaqua is the father of Cristiano Vivaqua, author of the project and engineer responsible for the work of companies New Home and Hastiforme, of which he is the owner.
Cristiano Vivaqua and his wife, Isis Brandão, owner of New Home, are also targets of temporary arrest warrants and are considered fugitives. The arrests were ordered because they did not come forward and were not found shortly after the incident.
The delegate responsible for the investigation, Deidiene Fialho Costa Eboli, reported that there is a hypothesis that the three knew about the risk of the construction. Police also state that there was a permit authorizing the work, with the condition that the old structure be demolished, which did not happen.
The lawyer for the companies, Adelmo Silva, stated that his clients are at the disposal of justice, but the statement remains incomplete in the article.
