The Rio de Janeiro City Hall delivered, on Sunday (13), the keys to 96 new apartments from the Morar Carioca do Aço program, located in Santa Cruz, in the West Zone of the city. With these new units, the program now includes 496 beneficiary families.
The apartments have approximately 50 square meters and include a living room, two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, balcony and service area. The units are delivered furnished, and ground floor apartments are adapted for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. Each block has four floors, with four apartments per floor.
The project brings together housing and urbanization works, with a total investment of R$ 300.9 million. Sunday's delivery marks the beginning of the relocation of residents from blocks 4, 5 and 6 of Block C. According to the city hall, 400 families already live in the new housing from the program.
