Enric Mas, Spanish rider from the Movistar team, won the 81st edition of the Vuelta, the Vuelta a España. The Spaniard finished the competition with a 2-minute 15-second advantage over Slovenian Primoz Roglic, thus consolidating his lead in the general classification during the race.
In the final stage in Granada, which decided the general classification of the Vuelta, it was Tobias Halland Johannessen who stood out by winning in a sprint, beating Romele at the finish in the Spanish city. The stage victory thus went to the young Norwegian rider, who closed the competition with this partial victory.
Enric Mas, 29 years old, thus confirmed his first Grand Tour victory in cycling, after several seasons competing at the highest levels of the sport. His consistency throughout the 21 stages of the Vuelta allowed him to maintain the lead until the end, surpassing Roglic, who had already won this race in previous editions.
