The Local Health Unit of Lezíria will reinforce the surgical capacity of the Hospital de Santarém with the installation of a new state-of-the-art robotic surgical system, in an investment of 2.390 million euros, plus VAT. This is the first robotic system of this type to operate in mainland Portugal.
The funding for the acquisition of the equipment comes from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which made this investment in the Lezíria region possible.
The robotic surgical system represents a significant technological advancement for the health unit, allowing surgical procedures to be performed with greater precision and less invasiveness, benefiting both healthcare professionals and patients.
With this installation, the Hospital de Santarém positions itself at the forefront of robotic surgery in Portugal, expanding the region's healthcare response capabilities.
