Pagode artist Suel, native of Nova Iguaçu, made her debut at Rock in Rio this Sunday, performing for the first time in the official event lineup. Although she had performed at festival booths in 2019, this was her first participation on the festival's main stage.
During her show, Suel took a trip down memory lane and revisited hits from the beginning of her career. During the performance, she announced she would sing part of "Ainda Mais 2002," a video album recorded in August with release scheduled for next Friday (18). The project is a continuation of "De Volta para 2002," released in February, which recalled the year the artist started in music.
The idea for the projects arose during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Suel held a livestream and decided to tell the story of her career. The broadcast recounted her entire musical journey up to that point, in 2020. After the livestream, the fans liked the content so much that they began insistently asking her to record a DVD and perform these songs in a show.
According to the artist herself explained, six years after receiving these fan requests, she finally decided to fulfill them. "I made the livestream available online, and my fans liked it so much that they started bothering me to record a DVD and sing these songs in a show. And, six years later, I decided to give my fans what they wanted," Suel added.
