For the first time in the history of the University of Coimbra, an event totally dedicated to the investiture of new doctors was held. The event represented a symbolic and festive moment for the institution, celebrating the completion of doctoral programs.
The ceremony allowed for highlighting the importance of academic research within the university. The new doctors were described as prepared to add value to society through the knowledge acquired during their academic journeys.
The event marks a new tradition at the University of Coimbra, which until now did not have a moment of its own dedicated exclusively to the celebration of its new doctors.
