Minister Flavio Dino, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), authorized this Sunday (13) the breaking of the fiscal secrecy of businesswoman Karina Ferreira da Gama and the Instituto Conhecer Brasil (ICB), of which she is the owner. Karina holds a R$157 million contract with the São Paulo city government for the installation of wifi in the city. The municipal administration is not under investigation, but there is suspicion that she may have diverted part of the funds to Go Up Entertainment, a company she also owns, among other recipients.
Go Up Entertainment is responsible for the production of the film "Dark Horse," which portrays the life of former President Jair Bolsonaro. Dino lifted the secrecy of these investigations, which began with the São Paulo Civil Police and were referred to the STF last week. The minister also ordered that police hand over the cell phones seized during the searches.
While in the São Paulo sphere the focus of investigators was to examine the wifi contract, at the STF the purpose of the inquiry is to investigate the transfer of parliamentary amendments to the film. As the two proceedings are correlated, the case was centralized at the Supreme Court.
